The Chicago Tribune as a Criminal Justice Resource

The Chicago Tribune is the single best source for Illinois news about criminal justice issues. Therefore, it's the primary source of information from which many of the excerpts on these archives are drawn. Each Tribune excerpt includes the date and other information that will allow readers to access the original article in it's entirety.

The Chicago Tribune holds the copyright to ALL articles excerpted here. The excerpts here were obtained from the Chicago Tribune menu line of AMERICA ONLINE's Newstand section. The Tribune's services include access to recent articles and (for an additional fee) archives from 1985 to the present. I have found this an invaluable resource for research, writing, and fact-checking.
